Need advice on how to ask out girls?

All my girl friends(that i wouldnt date because we're too good of friends) say that im the perfect guy but im not too confident so i havent really believed them. Im 19, im a volunteer firefighter and i work at a camp for little kids. A lot of girls seem to think im cute but im just too afraid to ask them out, any advice?
