What do you think of spending waste in government?

The state of California is talking about bankruptcy yet today I saw a CHP motorcycle with the "BMW" logo on it. I also saw some job postings for the city of Brea, CA that said: CITY CLERK $6,500/mo and a bunch of other city jobs that offer $4-6k jobs for what are normally $10-12/hr positions. Firefighters, yes they are our "heros" I know, but the starting pay is RIDICULOUS! I don't care if they put their lives on the line! I did too when I was in the Marines in a war zone! BIG DEAL! That's what you sign up for and you never think of yourself as a hero! But back to my point...WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DOING WASTING SO MUCH MONEY ON MAKING PEOPLE FAT WITH THESE RIDICULOUS SPENDING HABITS???
