How come females can be firefighters?

Because most firefighters won't have to go into a building and if they do you can be sure the people waiting outside to go in and get them will be men who can carry them back out (the old "2 in, 2 out" rule). Firefighters do more than running into burning buildings... checking on systems of public buildings, car accidents, situations where people need first aid and EMTs aren't there yet, gas leaks, downed lines and trees, etc. There are plenty of jobs a female could do with those that don't involve trying to lift someone out.

Okay, look. I can never tan. EVER. I can sit outside all day, every day, or gradually and still burn, burn, burn. I'm not a redhead, I have brownish blonde hair. Ok, so I don't know how to spell it, but my doctor prescribed me Wellbutrin about two months ago for pregnancy-related depression. I just now took my first one yesterday because I was too worried about the possible side effects on the baby. At first I was able to control it for the most part, but as the months have went along, I'm getting really bad. I'm extremely depressed, can't eat or sleep, etc. I even considered suicide a few times because it's gotten to that point. I feel the benefits may outweigh the risks, so I took one yesterday, and planned to finish my 30 day supply then get my refill. Problem is, I want a healthy baby also, and I saw on one of those "bad drug" commercials that there were babies born with birth defects such as spinal bifida, cleft palate, etc to women who were taking this or other anti-depressants while pregnant. So it worries me alot. Has anyone had any experience with taking wellbutrin while pregnant(good or bad) or have anyone elses story to share? I know I NEED to take it or I may not make it through the rest of this pregnancy, but I'm torn. On one hand, I don't want to do ANYTHING that will possibly harm my unborn son. But on the other, I have a 4 1/2 year old daughter that I have to care for on a daily basis and don't want her to see me like this, or for me to harm myself or others...HELP!!! Oh, and I'm already 23 weeks if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Lots of industries hire firefighters, chemical plants are big on them, every city and town has them, every airport has them,,,,I believe they will all require some kind of training above and beyond high school, the military is an excellent place to get firefighter training, especially the Navy and Air Force.

That's normal. I'm very pale too and the veins that you are seeing are closer to the surface of your skin, so that's why you see them so well. I can see them in my hands, feet, legs, arms, chest and temples. There's nothing to worry about.

I have been studying the usual math, mechanical aptitude, and vocab for my upcoming fire test, but from experience I know there is usually a Human Relations section on most tests which will have various statements (usually ethical ones) like " I will protect the life of others no matter what the cost". Choosing "a" means you strongly agree, "b" you agree, "c" you disagree and, "d" you strongly disagree. Then the next question will be something like " People consider me an extremely giving and protective individual". I want to know if there really are correct answers, even between the choices like agree and strongly agree, for these types of questions or are the testers just looking for consistency with the choices you make?

Weird symptoms when waking up? Please help!?

For the past week or so, ive been waking up sweating, out of breath, weak, shaking, sore, and pale. I don't know what it is! I get 9 to 10 hours of sleep every night. It started off with just waking up with bruises all over my legs for no reason, then i got all of these symptoms, now i get horrible vivid nightmares, too. Also, when i wake up, i have a hard time remembering the day before. It just seems like it wasnt real. I take vitamins everyday too. Im not on any medications, i do not do drugs or drink. Also, (this Im not sure if this is related) I've been zoning out a lot. I feel like life isn't real and I'm not real. Ive been feeling very anxious and depressed, too. I do have an anxiety/social anxiety disorder, but lately its been bad. Please help!

Is there ANYTHING I can do to help my farmers tan?

The weird tan I'm getting from being in the sun during sports, with my shin guards an my long-ish shorts is making my knees super tan and the rest of my leg not so much. Also, my jersey has sleeves that go down pretty far, so the top part of my arms is pale, where by the lower part is very tan. I tried to fix everything today by going outside covering up my knees while I tanned a little (I know it's bad for you, but I was just trying to fix the weird tan line.) I ended up not covering everything right and not I have two pale stripes on my legs. One a bit above my knees and the other a bit below them. It's kind of funny actually, but obviously not good. Any ideas? Any lotions or anything? I'm running out of ideas.

You are correct but do you know why you are correct? The concept of "hell" was never the intention of God. Replace every instance of "hell" with "sheol" when reading scripture. It's a slightly complicated answer because the subject is so whack! I'm a Bible believing Christian that can fully proclaim that Jesus Christ is my God and my Savior and yet...if I died tomorrow, I will go to hell. Yep. Here is why. Hell is a concept that didn't arise until around the 11th century and was derived from the name of a Norse pagan goddess/ruler/queen/overseer of a mystical abode of the dead. As cultures migrated and traversed the earth terminology was adopted and definitions changed but during this period...folks went there when they died but it was not a place of torture at all. Then around the 14th century the Roman Catholic Church adopted this term "hell" as a replacement word for the Hebraic "sheol" which means grave/death or more literally.."to be covered over". Death in the Bible is called "a sleep" repeatedly. The dead know nothing, feel nothing and are nothing except remembered in the mind of God. He is the only immortal Spirit. We don't each of us have our own lil spirit that discorporates (thank you Steven King) from our bodies and flits about from place to place. No one goes to a hell or a heaven. Heaven is all that blue/black spacious area above your head and there are three of them. The atmosphere around the earth, space which contains all manner of space object and then the third heaven which is way, way, way out there and that is where the heavenly "beings" hang out...according to scripture. So. When you die you are dead. I'm dead. Pretty much everybuddy save a coupla folks who have surpassed that phase and of course anyone who has been resurrected again just a few folks including Jesus the first born of the resurrection. Hell, the term, is also used to describe the end state of the earth but it replaces the other Hebraic term Gehenna which was a literal location...a burn dump right outside Jerusalem…where trash, rubbish, carcasses of animals and even folks to poor to afford a proper burial were tossed. It was perpetually burning and Jesus used this place allegorically to describe the "lake of fire" which means that the earth and all its contents not belonging to God will be consumed, destroyed, annihilated in that scourge. There is no afterlife...there is only eternal life or eternal death. Jesus said "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not PERISH but have everlasting life". The Bible even predicts in scripture that men will fabricate a falsehood covenant with "death" and teach it but they won't escape the truth. If you belong to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob...Ya'hovah, God of the Bible then you are redeemed and will be born again on new earth, under a new heaven where there will be no death, no suffering, pain, loss, aging, etc...just life. If not then you will experience the second death once and eternally and you will be gone and forgotten. That is where the weeping and gnashing of teeth comes in. Nowhere in the Bible does it ever say that any one person will suffer for an eternity in a lake of burning sulfur and brimstone being poked at by devils with pitchforks while their loved ones from heaven look on. Life is life and it is through Him, by Him and for Him that we live, move and have our being...He can't abide with us on this earth and limited our years to 120. Why would He even before judgment day immediately dispensate someone to either a heaven or a hell only to resurrect them on that last day, judge them and then send them back? We are flesh and blood beings. Fire would consume us immediately and will. We cannot live in a "heaven"...not without some serious Buzz Lightyear style equipment. All of this is in scripture. I've read it and put it together because the other traditional teaching made no sense to me. Why would a loving creator God torture folks for eternity for a finite life of transgression on this earth. The answer? He does not and will not. Choose life. Love in Christ, ~J~

Can ignorance be a reason to accuse someone for trespassing?

several weeks ago, i was staying with my girlfriend in her house, which she shares with her brother and her younger sister, all of whom are over the age of 18 and is an add on to her grandmother's house but with no access to the main house. the building is a 3 bedroom "condo" which was an added extension of the garage. now, my girlfriend had given word to her grandmother that i was going to be staying a few days with her, which she had ok'd. in the course of these several days that i had been staying there, my girlfriend's soon to be ex husband (they're currently going through a divorce) had stolen my cell phone and destroyed it, preventing me from getting in contact with a friend or family member who could give me a ride home. on the third day that i had been staying there, after my girl and i had woken up, we were sitting outside smoking a cigarette when her grandmother came rushing towards us and had got in my face, telling me that i was not welcome there and that i was trespassing, and that she had told me several times that i was not welcome there, when in fact she made no such statements directly towards me but had told my girl that she did not want me there, but that was before my girlfriend had told her grandmother that i was going to stay a couple of days there until i could get a ride. after she was finished with her "barking" she informed us that she was going to call the cops and have me arrested for trespassing. her grandmother knows hardly anything about me, mainly for the fact that she will disregard anything that my girlfriend tries to tell her, in her mind, the fact that i smoke automatically makes me a bad person. however my girlfriend has tried to tell her grandmother that i have served in the military, that i was a volunteer firefighter, and that i have plans to join the police force for the next county or to become a paramedic, as well as the fact that i have a spotless criminal record, so quite honestly... nothing about me or my past is bad. and yet just because of sheer ignorance, her grandmother has tried to have me arrested for trespassing on the property twice for no legit reasons. in the state i live in, in idaho... i can only be arrested for trespassing if i do not have permission or haven't been invited onto the property, which i have by her granddaughter. my question is... can she accuse me and charge me with trespassing, if i have permission to be there by my girlfriend, her sister, and her brother?

Red Cross CPR levels?

Ok so i am currently a lifeguard, and am attending fire school. My current certifications are: Lifeguarding/first aid and CPR-AED for lifeguards. In the past, my cpr aed cert card said for the professional rescuer, so im curious as to whether or not "lifeguard" carries the same weight as "professional rescuer" therefore making it so i dont have to recertify while becoming a firefighter. Also, my current cpr and last one say valid for 2 years, i've heard many ppl say they are only valid for one. why this discrepency?

I don't tan much, I am actually pretty pale. I never really tried to tan because I didn't think it was possible for someone like me to get good color. I got a lot of advice from friends and they said that its totally possible. So I bought a tanning package and I've only been tanning twice there at the salon. This last time was there I developed a rash on my left breast. Its kind itching and I'm refraining from itching it. Just worried why I would of gotten a rash. my aunt told me that after my great grandma passed away she dreamed that she was going to go to a house where my great grandma was (still living in the dream) and when she got there the house was on fire and she kept yelling for the firefighters to help her get her grandma out of the house and they said they couldn't go in there and they were pulling and holding her back. Im gonna be honest at first I read this and at the beginning I thought it was pathetic (the 8th grade and 6th grade part) but Idk somethin about this story (like as I read) made it seem real. I was dating a guy for about 3 months. The last time he and I talked was Wednesday of last week. We were joking around with each other on the way home from dinner. Once we got to his place, I thought we had finished joking around when he said something insulting to me. I got upset and when I get upset I don't talk much, if at all. When he would ask me something, I would only give him short answers. I told him he hurt my feelings and he said that he already said he was sorry. He walked me to my car gave me a big hug and a couple kisses and I went on home. I didn't call or text when I got home because I was still upset. Thursday morning, I woke up and was over being angry but realized I had over reacted as well. I texted him and told him I was sorry that I had over reacted and that I hope he had a good Thursday. I haven't talked to him or heard from him since I left his house on Wednesday evening. I sent him text on Friday saying that I must have upset him pretty bad if he didn't want to talk to me, that I was sorry and that I would leave him alone. Firefighting is a fairly safe job... My husband is a cop and I never really worry. The only thing that really sucks is the shift work and not having the same schedule. I'm not going to say you're too young, but I am going to say she is acting this way because of her age. At your age, friendships are really important to people. Maybe she doesn't feel super close and comfortable enough around her friends and she has her guard up when she is with them so she treats you differently because she is afraid of what they would think of her. It's really all about her friends in this case because if you and her are normal when you're alone, then you obviously like each other. But like I said, she is still immature because she is only 13 so she is going to act differently when she is with her friends whether it's to fit in with them or make sure she can keep them.

i am an 18 year old female. i weigh about 107 and im 5'3. latley i been having random muscle soreness. As a 68W combat medic what will I be looking to expect?

I really want to do Infantry but, later on I want to be a firefighter. I know this MOS would be the better choice for that but, as especially a line medic do you hang with the infantry guys and get to shoot in fire fights or do you just wait around for someone to get hurt? I would consult your doctor. There are plenty of reasons a person could black out. I suffer from fainting spells and I've had a lot of tests done, but they can't come up with a reason.

there is a few things you could do. one thingis, you could go to the department you plan to work for, call their station phone number, and ask them how to get in, or you could also go online to a fire academy call them, sign up take the test, apply for what town(s) you prefer to go into and then go from there. most of the time it helps to be in the military, have a fire science degree, or have an EMT/Paramedic degree.

HELP I'M OUT OF CONTROL!?!? D:?

So I'm trying to recover, and yesterday I said "If I feel hungry, I should eat until I'm full" so I ate breakfast,lunch,dinner,snacks yesterday, but the problem is that it totalled 928 calories only, and I was actually happy because I managed to eat that amount in 1 whole day. Not that it's too much, it's too little, I'm aware of that. But then I couldn't sleep for the whole night, and I woke up at 6.30 am with hunger pangs! so after 30 minutes or so when I finally gave up and realized there would be no way to get back to sleep, I weighed myself and saw that I hadn't lost anything, I got frustrated and was like "F*ck it" so I ate, and was like really hungry :/ I consumed like 2000 calories. I don't know why my body does this to me though, like I get pale and dizzy and it feels like I haven't eaten for days if I don't get the right amount of food for 12 - 24 hours. So after I had consumed 2000 calories, I said I wouldn't eat until tomorrow, 6 hours later I binged on cookies :/ so THEN I purged! and THEN on top of that I took 1 bag of laxative powder. I don't want to do this anymore, it's enough! I want to like my body and I'm tired of being in auto-mode while this other unknown person inside of me is doing this. Please help, I know I can beat this on my own, but I just need some support from some people that have gone through the same! :(

Firefighters waste tax money?

I've never called them for an emergency. All they do is sit around playing cards, waiting for cats to get stuck in trees. Betta fish is pale and unresponsive?

Brought him home about a month ago, first time with a Betta fish, or any fish for that matter. He was sick about 2 weeks ago because I was using tap water, I quickly went out and bought a water conditioner, but now he's having similar non-responsive symptoms; he is lying on the bottom of the tank, rarely being active and only going up for air, he is not eating, just spitting the pellets out, and this is what worries me most...he's very pale. He's usually a dark purple and light pink body but now hes almost orange and the purple is looking translucent. I did a water change today, and i'm going to fast him tomorrow and maybe the next day to make sure it's not constipation or swim bladder. (he's not swimming sideways yet..) I don't have a heater because our house is quite warm, but i've been doing water cycling today (taking out 2 cups of the water and replacing it with new hot conditioned water to raise the temperature a bit) The warm water seemed to help his activity but it does not explain the paleness and the lack of eating.. Can anyone throw perspective to this? (also his gills seem slightly swollen from the last ammonia shock...I really am trying to take good care of this fish.. Er or doctors office?

My husband has had a headache for more than 24 hours now. He took 4 bc powers throughout the day yesterday with no release and some advil last night that also did not help. He rarely gets headache but when he dose they only last a few hours and are helped by bc power. Last night he said he didn't feel good but he looked fine, about a min later I looked at him again he was pale white and pouring sweat. He couldnt sleep last night. I have been with him for 4 years he has NEVER called into work sick except for today and he only goes to a dr when I make him and spend a few days bugging him about it. He told me he wants to see dr today and wasn't getting outa bed till it was time to go to the dr. So this has me very worried. My question is... What type of dr would he see for this or should I take him to the ER?

How would I genuinely convey that I want to help someone buy a car without sounding like a car salesman?

I have been selling cars for only 4 months now and I have been getting amazing results from being straight forward with people and helping them out. I love to help people, in fact, I actually got into the car business to pay for fire school because my ultimate goal is to be a firefighter. Firefighters only work two days a week here in Houston so I will need to have a second job to keep from getting stir crazy and I honestly think I could help people AND succeed if I continued to sell cars. My only issue is this... I get customers all the time that are liars and deceitful even when I am straight forward and honest with them. It seems like the kinder and more open I am with them, the more they take advantage of that. Its almost to a point that I don't believe a word anyone says anymore. I don't mind that people are rotten, but I think that even when people read my ads and here my offers to help them, they are unresponsive because they are expecting to be lied to. I have tried craigslist but it seems to be of no help. Even when my prices are posted right next to the other prices that are thousands higher, I am still getting zero responses. I work at "Planet Ford" here in Spring Texas, just north of Houston and I am at the top of the board this month. I have done so without being deceitful and I would love to make salesman of the month and show that it is possible to do while still retaining all of my morals. I have been in the oilfield my entire life and if you know anything about the oilfield, you'll know that its a "no bullshit" line of work. Why would my garage door open on its own?

My garage door opened in the middle of the night & it made security alarm go off, If it was a neighbor wouldn't it close back down?! It hasn't happened in over 2 years since we switched frequency. Firefighter's wearing shorts in fire service?

What are some policies, SOP'S and opinions on wearing shorts in fire service. A few of us at my department are pushing for shorts in our department. Due to such high temp's down here in the south we would much rather be in shorts during at least during the summer months. Our chief is okay with it, and we have an idea of how to wear shorts yet still look professional, so i don't need opinions if it's professional or not. Our problem is we are running into some problems with some of the guys wanting to wear shorts, and some not..very few dont want to wear them, but there are some. Just enough to make it a problem.

Will cocoa butter lotion get rid of my stretch marks?

I am only 13 and going through puberty. Because of my rapid weight loss and gaining, I managed to get stretch marks on my hips, inner thighs, and on my waist. The ones on my hips are already a white color unlike the ones on my inner thighs and on my waist which are mostly a pink and purple color. I am extremely pale so the marks are very obvious. I have just started to apply the lotion on my stretch marks recently. Will this get rid of, or at least fade, my stretch marks in time??

Does it sound like i have a hernia?

For the past couple days ive noticed a soarness between my legs and when i press inward toward my leg i can pinpoint the spot. It doesnt really hurt but im aware its there. I go to the gym but havent really done anything with my legs lately but run. Im a firefighter so im always lifting patients on a stretcher but no one really large lately. Is it normal to feel shortness of breath after donating blood?

I donated blood earlier around 7pm. It's 1am here now, and about an hour after donating I was driving and talking to my friends, and I had to keep stopping while I was talking to catch my breath because I felt so short of breath. I also occasionally felt a little bit dizzy, but not to the point of where I thought I was going to pass out.. And I do know that is normal.
