When did you move out from your parents?

I am 17 years old and I live in NJ. This fall i'll be a senior in high school. Schools not really for me so im thinking of paasing up college. With the numerous times i've visited California i'm thinking of getting a low priced apartment for myself in San Francisco after graduation. I have about $100,000 to my name. My dream in life is to be a firefighter, so i'll look for openings around the area, or just a stint with a department to get my foot in the door to open up other oppurtunities. What age did you move out from your parents? How well did it go? How much money did you have to your name? How do you think i'll do with the mentioned circumstances? I don't wanna be stuck on my own in California with no job.
